Hutt Valley High School in Lower Hutt, Wellington has produced some Fine Handball Players over the years.
This year Handball New Zealand decided to take a trip down memory lane and revisit the school and spend 3 days
Developing and Introducing the sport to Current students.
With the help of Sports Captain Luke Armstrong Handball New Zealand were overwhelmed by the enormous turnout
over the 3days,with more than 45 students in each training session.
This is the largest co-ed school in the Wellington region with over 1800 students.
To know that Hutt valley High have a long association with Handball New Zealand and 11 past New Zealand senior
handball representatives makes it mind boggling to know what the future holds for these talented young people.

With the School year winding down, there is no stopping the youngsters
at Petone-Central Primary School from playing Handball.
Last week year 6,7,8 students had a go at the New Sport, under the watchful eye of Current
Black Tui Langi Winitana.

“My students kept asking me questions about the sport and When I was going to teach them how to play?.
So I decided that I would put them to the test..
Lets just say that now I’m finding it difficult to get them to focus on their school work”
With the natural talent of these kids Winitana expects to see some future handballer’s evolve from this school

Taking charge in the Far North is Maria Pereira, who has done a magnificent job putting in the hard yards along side with the great
support from Sport Northland in making the event a successful one.
